Aging Services
Your specific needs and your insurance coverage will help to determine how often homecare team members visit you. Homecare professionals visit patients an average of two to three times a week. CMS finalized a new case-mix classification model, the Patient-Driven Groupings Model , effective beginning January 1, 2020. The PDGM relies more heavily on clinical characteristics, and other patient information to place home health periods of care into meaningful payment categories. One case-mix variable is the assignment of the principal diagnosis to one of 12 clinical groups to explain the primary reason for home health services.

Achieving healthy ageing is necessary for China to reap positive benefits from increased longevity and to reduce potential economic and social burdens that could accompany rapid population ageing. Home monitoring in ILD could improve access to specialist care, reduce the burden on health-care systems, improve patients’ quality of life, identify disease worsening, guide treatment decisions, and simplify clinical trials. In the first Series paper, Marlies Wijsenbeek and colleagues provide an overview of experiences with home monitoring in ILD, address the challenges and limitations for both care and research, and provide future perspectives. These students complete their core 3rd year rotations at MedStar Franklin Square, rotating through Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology, along with subspecialty rotations.

Our clinical team consists of board-certified physicians, certified physical therapists, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, physician assistants, and specialists. Our inpatient rotations take place at Union Memorial, Franklin Square, and Harbor Hospitals. Residents will gain exposure to general medical units and intensive care units at all these hospitals. One unique aspect of our program is the Acute Cardiac Service at Union Memorial, a dedicated cardiac unit where residents work closely with both attending faculty and cardiologists. Union is a regional referral center for cardiology care and our residents gain a wealth of experience taking care of these complicated patients.
